The Arcadia Machine & Tool company was a firearms manufacturer from Irwindale, California. Commonly
referred to as AMT, the company produced several Pistols and a couple of rifles. Plagued by quality and reliability problems, the company went bankrupt and the assets and trademark were acquired by Irwindale Arms Incorporated.
The most popular AMT was the AutoMag showned above. This pistol was produced as a 44 Cal. and 357 Cal. and was the same gun used in the Dirty Harry movie Sudden Impact. The AutoMag pistol was beautifully crafted of stainless steel and the original model had a 6-1/2" barrel. Other AMT pistols included the AutoMag II, AutoMag III, AutoMag IV, AutoMag V, Javelina, Government, Commando, HardBaller, HardBaller LongSlide, Skipper, On Duty, Back Up, Baby AutoMag and Lightning Pistol.
